Utah Whig Outreach Director

I’m tired of extremes in American politics and the “us vs them” mentality that goes with it. I want to see a new political party with members that focus on meeting the needs of the people, not the needs of their party. I’m the Director of the Utah Whig Outreach program which can be found at the following:

There’s also the Utah Modern Whig Party too. We’re currently working on ballot access, and hope that we can talk/work with the United Utah Party in the future. While centrists working together is great it would be ideal to establish the Whigs nationwide as the home for centrist & moderates.

I hope all people on this forum that considers themselves Whigs will go to the party directory on this site, contact their local leadership, and volunteer to help build the party & Whig campaigns. If there’s no one available locally contact the next available leadership available up in the party about starting a new chapter where they are.

I just looked over the forum after not doing so for a while. Interesting points brought up. What’s very interesting is looking back at the phrase “Fake News” as it was shortly after the election. The very phrase has turned back against the media, and it is a favorite to be used against them by their opponents.

All going back to your point of “it obligates those who lean toward a particular ideology to support any claim that favors their team”, and I’d take it a step further that what we see is denouncing anything that is contradictory to their ideology. People are choosing their news reports/facts to support their opinions & refute those they disagree with.

I support passage of the American Anti-Corruption Act -- model legislation designed as a standard for action to blunt the corrupting effect of political contributions at the the local, state and federal level.

I believe lobbying and ethics laws must be reformed; political fundraising must be transparent and donors must be publicly disclosed; and a system of citizen-funded elections must be installed.

I endorse all efforts to reverse the Supreme Court's decisions in the Citizens United and McCutcheon cases, and pledge to do all I can as a citizen to return control of my government to the hands of The People.

The Modern Whig Institute does not accept donations from corporations, unions, or special interest groups.

We are funded directly by volunteers and grassroots supporters. Please consider a small contribution today!

Q: How often do you vote?
    A: Every election, every year.

    How often do you vote?

Are you a cafeteria voter? Do you pick and chose what to vote in? Or do you vote in everything from county dog catcher to President of the United States?

    Take the survey

We’ve got our first meeting coming up tomorrow, September 28, and we’re trying to get regular monthly meetings in Salt Lake City for Whigs. Hopefully this will help establish the party on its way to growing here in Utah. Any other Whigs that have had experience growing the party in their respective states, please contact the email above with your suggestions.

    Stand with the Modern Whigs!

Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little. (Edmund Burke)

Thank you for donating to The Modern Whig Institute. We deeply appreciate your support, and we pledge to make the best possible use of your contribution.

Each donation is another step toward greater representation, more effective government and a deeper appreciation for the rights of every citizen.

We have two ways of donating. This page is for straightforward, one-time donations to our organization to support our operations. Second is through our monthly continuing support program

    Once again, we thank you!
