A: A leader with integrity will behave in a manner befitting a leadership position. S/he will ensure that they have appropriate advisors, because to do otherwise would lack integrity. Most importantly, we can trust that a leader with integrity will do their best to make tough decisions with appropriate care & consideration of all affected parties.
Whether a candidate is running for City Council, Mayor, State Legislature, Governor, Congress or President there are some traits or qualifications we look for as a society. As Whigs, what are the traits that you look for in a candidate for any of these offices?Take the survey
Wendy McCord answered 2017-09-06 10:09:02 -0400Q: Please tell us a brief example of what position you would have us take?
A: There really are too many issues that have become important to pick just one. But gerrymandering is an immense problem that stacks the government. Rather than representing real people & real districts, we have created ridiculous districts that make no sense & have very little in common. We should divide our states/counties, etc. in ways that make sense. Use counties (or combine counties); divide counties by region, etc. So many constructs of our government were created/are leftover from years gone by. We need to be more inclusive & more logical in our approach. Otherwise we continue to be divisive.
What issue are you passionate about? What issue matter the most to you when you vote? Which issue would you prefer our party add or expound more upon with in our party platform? Please fill out this survey in order to best inform our party and candidates where our members and electorate stand to better represent the people.Take the survey

I support passage of the American Anti-Corruption Act -- model legislation designed as a standard for action to blunt the corrupting effect of political contributions at the the local, state and federal level.
I believe lobbying and ethics laws must be reformed; political fundraising must be transparent and donors must be publicly disclosed; and a system of citizen-funded elections must be installed.
I endorse all efforts to reverse the Supreme Court's decisions in the Citizens United and McCutcheon cases, and pledge to do all I can as a citizen to return control of my government to the hands of The People.
The Modern Whig Party of America does not accept donations from corporations, unions, or special interest groups.
