Q: What issue most influences your vote?
    A: Abortion

Q: Please elaborate on your choice and position...
A: I’m in an odd spot politically. I believe life begins at conception and that government has a duty to establish laws that protect human life and promote human flourishing. Because of my strong views on abortion, I have to consider it the most important political issue of our time. That said, while I support the pro-life stance of those on the right; I balk at laissez -faire economics and efforts to undo the ACA and the expansion of Medicaid. While the platform is a good foundation to build upon, I believe it would be in the best interest of the party to take firm stances on pressing social issues such as religious freedom, transgender rights, and the second amendment. I understand the desire to be inclusive to members across the political spectrum, but I still think we could tighten it up just a bit.

Q: Please elaborate on your choice and position...
A: Fix the House of Reps. The Apportionment Act holds the number of seats at 435, divided based on census data among the states. This is not how the House was designed to work and has done nothing but silence citizens within states. As populations sift, some states lose seats and others gain. How soon till only a handful (CA, TX, FL) will truly be the only states to matter during Presidential elections? More important, if the House is supposed to provide equal representation to all citizens, how can it accomplish that as the voice of citizens becomes more diluted? The number of citizens a congressperson represents varies greatly between the states and has only been widening since this Act.

Q: Please elaborate on your choice and position...
A: This is a difficult choice to make since some many of these issues are actually tied together and intertwined. My primary concerns are environmental considerations such has (but not limited to) climate change. Energy independence is tied into this also.
Healthcare is right up there with it. Nobody should have to go without healthcare due to financial considerations. Accountability for individuals, employers, and healthcare companies should be emphasized also.

A: I believe the acquisition of nuclear weapons by state and non-state actors is one of the most important challenges facing the US today. Having great infrastructure is irrelevant if a group who is sworn to America’s death has the means to eviscerate our country in the blink of an eye

Q: Please elaborate on your choice and position...
A: I believe that a lack of an educated populace has led to the latest in a parade of ignorance in government and society. We have all of this technology and ideas but can we truly do what’s best for the society of today? Our statistics speak for themselves in terms of where we are in the world standing. Civics, social sciences, essential math and English along with a foreign language need to be focused on until high school age when the child or children can decide to go to a technical school or a more broadened educational system.

Instead of force feeding facts for memorization we need to ensure that the students learn to adapt to new situations in learning and the problem(s) they may face.
