Q: Please elaborate on your choice and position...
A: Gerrymandering is THE foundational cause of polarization and extremism. When potential candidates are in safe districts, they must, by the nature of the electorate, appeal to the extremes to be elected. Ensuring competitive districts will tend to enforce centrism.

Q: Please elaborate on your choice and position...
A: Many of the problems in the United States stem from problems within the economy. It ranges from regional stagnation to income inequality. Unfortunately, both parties are playing to their bases recently which will never solve the problem. Both sides have some good points and good ideas. I am not for meeting halfway but picking and choosing from each sides ideal when the data backs up the position. Also the threats against free trade by both wings leaves me worried for the future of America in this global economy.

Q: Please tell us a brief example of what position you would have us take?
A: This party is a voice of reason. The majority of the country politically resides in the middle— some slightly more left and some slightly more right but in general, people just want to see some compromise to get something done — tax reform, healthcare, immigration!! Just something being done without the in fighting would be refreshing.

Q: Please elaborate on your choice and position...
A: The economy is linked to many others issues like healthcare and foreign policy/trade. We need to solve for all of it but unless people are really working, businesses are investing and people are spending the country is not growing.

Q: Please elaborate on your choice and position...
A: Nothing will ever be accomplished if there is no compromise. The far left and far right voices are drowning out the voice of reason. No one is going to get everything they want. The continued polarization will accomplish nothing.
